Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

Hi Christian and Katja, welcome to the site. Your Youtube videos are dignified and delightful. You don't have the raving apostate terror look about you! so welcome to the real world.
I think Mille has already asked for more details about your departure, what were the triggers for your awakening?

A new article on Gerrit's thinking on "Going to College is like pulling the trigger to our mouth"
by opusdei1972 ini have written a new article about how truthful is gerrit's comparison.
as you may know, in 2005 gerrit losch gave a talk in which he compared higher education with committing suicide.

The governing body are not concerned if they stunt your education. They do not care if you become dependent on the state for handouts because you do not have a career. They are not concerned if you cannot financially cope with your family’s welfare.
Why? Because they forbid anything other than slaving for them!
The GB are the only beneficiaries of this religion and the critical analysis of argument which is required in higher education; kills fundamentalist belief stone dead.
The only thing which sustains the idiotic beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses is enforced ignorance. When will JWs realize it?

Commercial activism.
by Ben131895 inin his last couple of vlogs, john cedars is wearing a t-shirt saying shunned.
some people liked it and asked him if they could purchase one.. in his last vlog (#111) he is advertising it and mentioned the link www.apostee.com, based in the us.
comments attached to vlog # 110 mentioned the fact that this company will close in april and that the business will be continued by cedars itself, who has also a stock of anti-witness items.. besides that, he was not the owner of jwsurvey.org, but since january 16, 2016 he is.. it looks (as mentioned before by simon in an earlier thread), this guy is making a living from his activism, a paid career.. one should seriously question his true motives, demonstrated in his activism.

I'm with dubstepped, if someone can devote their time to expose the reckless and life- suppressing dogma which the JW org dish out, I would support his endeavours.
I might re-think if he drove a Rolls Royce but even then if he was effective in his chosen work, we would not complain.
We tend to do a lot of talking here...we need more action against the JW org after all.

Muslim Shopkeeper Murdered for Wishing Friends a Happy Easter on Twitter
by cofty inhorrible crime in glasgow on thursday evening when a well loved muslim shop keeper asad shah was stabbed to death by at least one other muslim man.
mohammad faisal, a family friend, said a bearded muslim wearing a long religious robe entered mr shah’s shop and spoke to him in his native language before stabbing him in the head with a kitchen knife.. mr shah had posted the twitter message ‘good friday and a very happy easter, especially to my beloved christian nation’.
residents of shawlands in glasgow say he was well respected and had been known to hand out christmas cards to neighbours despite being of a different faith.. hundreds have turned out in a vigil near the crime scene....

Many of the recent Muslim atrocities have been perpetrated by individuals with criminal records.
It would seem that the religion endorses vile behaviour if done in the interests of Allah. The disaffected, mentally ill and criminal can strike a heroic note in their little lives by outrageous acts of cruelty and murder if the religion sets a precedent for such actions. Blind faith encourages moral blindness as well.
How tragic for this man's family.

CLAM - 24th March 2016 (Video Vignette)
by Nicholaus Kopernicus invideo - "use insight when comforting others"this was a wt contrived video of a sister who was widowed a year ago, and turns to members of the boe after a meeting in the kingdom hall in a distraught emotional state accompanied by suicidal thoughts.
two members of the boe saw her in her own home later that day.she conveyed that she wanted her life back - that her heart had been ripped out.
the elder acknowledges that "you and dan had a wonderful relationship".

The JW org is first and foremost a Bible quoting religion. They imagine that by quoting scriptures and examples from the Bible it is the key to answering every problem.
I agree NK this is dangerous and foolish.
The 'sister' in the vignette is conditioned to expect the sort of comfort recommended (Biblical examples) but in the real world grief and loss is not healed by unqualified help from spiritual leaders of the congregation. As you say, they need professional treatment.
The reluctance to do this on the part of the org. I think, is because they imagine "scripture quoting" is a panacea and secondly the GB will not relinquish their total control over a member to outsiders, even if this means they do not get the right help and suffer more as a consequence.
I do hope the lack of enthusiasm for the JW org's prescription was a general indicator for lack of loyalty to the heartless, self interested governing body.

The JW org is a failed doomsday cult?
by Half banana inby its own mandate in the founding of the watchtower magazine in 1879, it was set up to proclaim the arrival of jc in the heavens according to the then currently failed adventist claim for jesus' return the year 1874.. russell's catalyst for all that came afterwards was his pet claim (in so many words) "aha but jc did in fact come... but came invisibly!
" he added without sound evidence that it took four years for jc to come to rule from the heavens after his arrival there and that then was said to be in 1878. .
within forty biblical years from the arrival date, russell promised, with hopes even higher than his bank account, that god’s kingdom with christ at the helm would rule the earth in the absence of all worldly opposition.

Yes Vidiot, the key lesson is to keep your doomsday cult always on the boil. Don't whatever you do look to a date which will expose the lie of your raison d'etre.
Just keep the promises to the forefront along with donation obligations and argue that "God can never let you down" (emotional scam).
Of course with modern technology it is easy to re-write and sanitize your own corporate history and claim JWs never said 1914, 1925, 1975, or end of the 20th century.
Make it a disfellowshipping offence to read the WT history!

Why did Jesus have to suffer?? Something I never thought about.

The finest revelation in life is to realize that the Bible is a book of miserable and paranoid fictions which now is way past its sell-by date. It has been superceded by testable realities.
The bible is where all the the problems start. First realize it is merely a human cultural record. Get rid of the Bible as an authority, instead let your reasoning on evidence for things dictate how you live and what you believe.
Religion with the Bible is an unholy scam and a harmful misdirection in life.
How can anyone with functioning brains believe "Jesus suffered"? Its just a story!
If he was to be the replacement for God's first human called Adam then the whole idea of a ransom is preposterous since science visibly demonstrates there was no original man.
Wakey wakey believers! become "knowers" about the evidence instead.

Can a DFed person donate?
by Lostandfound inrereading a post re the shunning wt in feb made me think, do the wt accept money from the dead?
not inheritances but from the "living dead" as they perceive df and da people to be.. personally i think they accept or more correctly badger members who are really brain dead into giving.
or do attendants guard contribution boxes to stop such non existent people from putting money in.

The very reason for the existence of of the JW org is to take money.
How can they refuse it?
